Unintended Charges Incident During Testing in Billing Test Environment for Some Customers

U.S. Virgin Islands - The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “Authority”) extends its sincere apologies to customers affected by an incident that occurred during testing in its billing test environment. Last night, an autopay file was inadvertently processed, resulting in charges being generated for a subset of customers, approximately 3,000 electric customers. The Authority acknowledges the inconvenience and confusion this may have caused. Efforts are underway to promptly reverse these unintended charges and measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. WAPA appreciates the understanding and patience of its customers as it works diligently to resolve this matter.
