WAPA Announces Overnight Repairs Affecting Feeders 5A, 6A, 10A and 6B

ST. CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands (August 20, 2026) — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “the Authority”) advises customers of two scheduled overnight electrical interruptions to facilitate the replacement of a utility pole damaged in a vehicular accident and restore normal system operations.

 

As a preliminary step, customers served by Feeder 6B will experience a scheduled interruption on Friday, August 21, from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Approximately 497 customers will be affected.

The work will continue on Saturday, August 22, from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., affecting approximately 2,842 customers on Feeder 5A, 3,397 customers on Feeder 6A, 325 customers on Feeder 10A, and 497 customers on Feeder 6B. Service interruptions will occur in increments not exceeding three hours while crews safely complete the necessary work.

 

Affected areas include portions of Richmond, Mon Bijou/La Vallée, Barren Spot, Glynn, as well as areas extending from the Midland Substation to the Five Corners stoplight.
