ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (September 8, 2026) — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “the Authority”) advises the public of a temporary road closure on Norre Gade on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to facilitate necessary maintenance on a utility pole.
During the work, motorists traveling eastbound from Back Street will be diverted to Government Hill, while motorists traveling westbound on Norre Gade will be diverted onto Kirke Straede.
Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow traffic control measures and allow additional travel time while the work is underway.
WAPA appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation as necessary maintenance is performed to support the reliability of the electrical system.
