U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (August 16, 2025) – The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “the Authority”) advises the community that, as of 3:00 p.m. today, rotation outages went into effect across the St. Thomas/St.
John district following the loss of a transmission line.
Due to inclement weather conditions from Hurricane Erin, full-scale restoration efforts will begin first thing tomorrow morning in the St. Thomas/St. John district, prioritizing the transmission line that feeds critical areas. Once this work is underway,
our team will focus on isolated outages in the following areas on St. Thomas:
- Portion Feeder 6A
- Nadir
- Honduras
- Est Mariendahl
- Hospital Ground
- Feeder 8A
- Frydenhoj
- Nazareth
- Langmath
- St. Joseph and Rosendahl
- Peterborg
- Lovenlund
On St. John the following areas are impacted, and line crews will conduct repairs as the weather permits:
- Cruz Bay
- Enighed Hill
- Hansen Bay
On the St. Croix district, isolated outages due to inclement weather conditions caused by Hurricane Erin have been intermittent throughout the day. Line crews will continue to repairs, as the weather permits, for the following areas that are still impacted:
- Paradise Mills
- Williams Delight
- Brooks Hill
- Carlton
- St. Georges
- Hogensborg
- Upper Love
- Profit
- Mary’s Fancy
- Concordia
- La Valle
- Montpellier
- Morningstar
- Rattan
- Salt River
- Gentle Winds
- La Grande Princesse
As feeders are restored, customers are reminded that isolated outages may continue. These must be reported directly through WAPA’s website at https://www.viwapa.vi/customer-service/report-outage-or-problem or by phone at 340-773-2250 or 340-774-5225 – Option 4, so that crews can be dispatched efficiently.
